Have you got a WIG for the Old Spot?

 

The Fabulous Old Spot Theatre Company urgently needs your old wigs please! All shapes, sizes and colours would be useful, but they must be real hair (good quality acrylic also accepted as we do have a tame hairdresser to spruce them up)as these wigs will be restyled beyond recognition to finish off our fabulous Fabulous Old Spot’s 18th Century costumes.

 

The new play “Chancers” , a theatrical adventure for the fainthearted and the fierce will tour Gloucestershire and its surrounds from November to February.

 

Set in the 18th Century (or thereabouts) Carrie Lyndon, London’s first female playwright, is celebrating the successful premier of her new city comedy “The Rustic Fool”. The Duke of Gloucester sends her a murky message, offering riches in return for writing a star vehicle for one of his protégées. Carrie accepts the offer and sets off with her servant Ralph, to the wilds of Gloucestershire. She is immediately drawn into a world of agricultural disputes, bizarre etiquette, pungent smells and oddly accented intrigue…...
